    Our exclusive ceramic lamps are the result of over 20 years of design and development by  Peta Sweetman. Each lamp base is handmade  by Peta & her team in our Brisbane studio. Which means you can choose the from amongst our range in our Paddington store or we can custom make just for you.

    We have the perfect lamp shapes to suit any purpose; From table lamps to desk lamps, bedside lamps and even little bookshelf lamps! Create your own functional work of art by combining your favourite lamp shape, glaze colour and fabric design in a custom Bowerbird Lamp .

    Choosing a Lamp. How to get started.

    Choose from our eight lamp base shapes below : Joy, Venus, Zen, Delight, Radiance, Harmony, Aura & Elegant. Each shape has been designed to suit different spaces in the home. Match the purpose of your new lamp and the space that you have available with the dimension drawings and lamp specifications below.

    Choose the glaze colour : Lampshades are often replaced in 10 years, but your Ceramic Lamp Base will last a life time (or two). So, choose the colour that you love. 

    Choose the lampshade size : We have photographed our lamp bases with proportionate lampshades, and there are more sizes available.

    Choose the lampshade fabric : Browse the fabrics in the photos below, or on our lampshade page.

    The Joy Lamp is a wonderful way to add light and interest when space is limited. They are the smallest lamps in our range and work well as bedside lamps in small bedrooms, or as small desk lamps. Lampshades that fit our Joy Lamp look best in fabrics with small to medium scale patterns.

    Our Zen Lamp was inspired by traditional Chinese ceramics. The wide base and four feet make Zen’s very stable so they work well in just about any location in the home. They make beautiful bedside lamps for moderate sized bedrooms.

    One of our earliest designs, the Harmony Lamp is truly a favorite. The pleasing curves have universal appeal and the low center of gravity make them one of our most stable lamps. Harmony’s have a weight and substance that commands attention in any room. Their width makes them fill a space and so they are more suited to moderate to large furniture especially if you want to arrange accessories around them.
